In less than two days, I’ll be jetting off to sunny San Diego. You’d think by now I’d be packed and ready to go. That I’d have my to-do lists crossed off, my itinerary printed and my schedule set in stone.
You’d be wrong.
I haven’t begun packing. I haven’t finalized my schedule. I have only the vaguest idea of my itinerary. Heck, until today, I didn’t even have business cards.
That’s how I role.
But I think that’s okay. Too many out there in blogland are stressing about what they’re going to wear. Me? I’m going to take what’s clean.
Lots and lots of people are
throwing tantrums complaining about the parties they didn’t get invited to. Me? I refuse to worry about it.
This year, I actually have some invites. But I didn’t get into every event I thought I might want to attend. And you know what? That’s okay. Those party planners are just trying to get the most bang for their clients’ bucks. And my blog? Isn’t always going to cut it.
Oh and as for all the schedule cementing everyone’s doing? That’s not my bag either. I’ve looked at the schedule. I know what sessions I want to attend. But if someone I really want to talk to wants to get a coffee instead? That’s totally cool.
Except, of course, for Playskool’s Sesame Street panel. As the mother of a two-year-old, I simply must hear what Elmo and Abby have to say.
So that’s the way I’m playing it. We’ll see who turns out to have the better idea once the chaos begins.
By the way, you’ll get a real post tomorrow. Promise.
