Holiday Gift Guide: The Blogger Edition

Back when I lived in Motown, my mom and I used to do most of our Christmas shopping together. And when we did, we had a very generous gift giving policy—one that could be summed up with the sentence, “One for you, one for me. One for you, two for me. One for you,  one more for me.

Yeah. My mom kinda rocks.

Anyway, because that philosophy has been  ingrained in my psyche since I was about three feet high, I tend to follow it even now—if only in my mind. So as I’ve been gallivanting across the online shopping world, I’ve assembled my own wish list—one that any blogger (or hell, woman) would appreciate.

The Bling.

I love jewelry. Unfortunately, I have a reputation for losing/breaking things, so I don’t get it very often. But if I was doing my own Christmas shopping? I’d totally get one of these twitter handle necklaces from Survival of the Hippest:

Survival of the Hippest necklace

After all, everyone needs to know Amber Page Writes.

You can even get ’em tricked out with diamonds if you’re feeling wealthy.

The gadget

I have a pretty awesome little camcorder, but those Flip camera thingies are pretty darn cool. And the Bloggie camera by Sony? Is cooler still.

It's even pink. I like pink.

12.8 megapixel stills. 1080p video. A swiveling lens for easier vlogging…you name it, this little guy can do it. And I? Want it.

The furniture

I don’t know about you, but I like to blog from the comfort of a cushy chair, with my feet propped up on a equally cushy ottoman. And my living room/playroom (which was really supposed to be a library) is crying out for one of these:

The perfect spot to write from

It’s from this super cool company called Home Reserve. It’s one you put together yourself, is super cheap and has storage under the cushion (I can always use more hidey holes).

The vacation.

We all know that a little time for self-reflection and pampering is essential to the blogging lifestyle, right? That’s why we all need a break at The Palace resort in Playa Grande.

Imagine the writing I could do here.

Luxurious suites, Caribbean breezes, a private spa…and on sale at Living Social for one more day. What’s not to love? I’m sure I could finish my novel in no time on this balcony.

Honestly, as long as I get a sweater and maybe some decent chocolate, I’ll be fine. But if these things end up in my stocking? I’ll be the happiest blogger on this side of the galaxy.

So that’s what’s on my Christmas list. What would you like Santa to bring you, dear readers?

I would like Santa to pay off our mortgage and my student loans and a shiny new car (minivan) for myself and a shiny new (small SUV ) for my husband.

I am the same with jewelry, but oddly enough, sorta want one of those necklaces. I am sorta wishing I didn’t have such a long blog name now.

That sounds like heaven…of course, so does a child-free/husband-free nap.
