The Moments That Matter.

by Amber on August 12, 2010

Adventures in New York City aside, for the most part I lead what some would call a pretty hum drum life. I get up, go to work, come home, play with Tori, blog, run,  do housework and go to bed. Day after day, it’s the same routine.

But, within the boring consistency of  every day life are special moments. Moments that I treasure. Moments that make everything else seem worthwhile.

Like the moment Brian and I sat down to a delicious, homemade sushi dinner, pretending we were at a fancy restaurant while picnicking on the living room floor.

And the moment Tori discovered the magic of sand:

And the moment she discovered the fountain in our community pool:

And every moment Tori begs to be picked up, wraps her arms around me and gives me a big smooch.

Those are the moments that make me feel like  must be doing something right, and I’m pretty sure no Hollywood A-lister walking the red carpet has ever felt more loved.

Thanks for stopping by! I often try to be funny…and sometimes fail. But it’s the effort that counts, right?

LOVE the look on her face as she discovers sand. Too cute!

That’s lovely. My youngest, who is around Tori’s age (?), will say “Hi, Mama” when he wakes up, all bed-heady and perfect.

Mmm. Yes. Those are the things that get us through the teething/tantrums/complete ridiculousness of it all.

They do. Or so I was reminding myself when she woke up screaming at 4 a.m…
