Today, while waiting for inspiration to strike (i.e. procrastinating mightily), I decided to flip through the photos on my cell phone. And when I did? I discovered a treasure trove of Tori pictures. Pictures I hadn’t looked at since I took them. Pictures that made my ovaries hurt, seeing how little she was and how much she’s changed.
But what struck me most was how her smile has changed over the last year.
This was the first picture I took of her smile (with my cell phone). I think she was about 10 weeks old:
It was barely an upturn of the lips at that point. Then, a couple months later, I took this one:
That’s a full fledged smile. But not the cheek-eating grin she’d soon develop. First, though, she went through a gaping mouth phase, as shown in this gem.
Then, teeth started appearing:
And even more teeth…
But then, suddenly, she began looking like a little girl—smile and all.
Where did my silly baby go? Time is moving far too fast…especially when looked at through the lens of a cell phone.

I like to think so! Thank you!
I remember when Bea was so little… sans teeth… and I never wanted her smile to change. Now with teeth, her smile is more energetic than ever!
Tori is so cute!
I know what you mean. That gummy smile was great, but her current one is even better!
I just did the same thing today on my blog. It’s my youngstest’s birthday, and I cannot believe he’s two. How can that possibly be true?
Time flies faster and faster every year, I’m convinced. Except when you’re waiting for it to be lunchtime, or quitting time or Friday. But wait, it is Friday! Hurray!
What a sweet post, and what a beautiful girl
A picture says so much, eh?

They do. I wonder what her smile will look like next year?
What a good idea! And, I think I’m still stuck in the open mouth phase. Why didn’t I ever grow outta that?!

I don’t think I ever really did either. Or the tantrum stage, for that matter.
